and activities such as golf.

Carly w a s delighted to be back at her old school where she was a golf scholar – she secured her tour card while she was studying for her A- levels at Glenalmond College.

She said: “I really enjoyed my time at Glenalmond and it’s been great to be back after 10 years to hear about the exciting plans for golf here and to see the enthusiasm of the pupils and teaching staff.

“The new golf hub is amazing and something I would have really benefitted from at the school stage.

“I am sure it will make a huge difference to the development of the school’s young golfers.”

She added her advice to young people would be to “work hard, really focus and make sure you enjoy what you do”.

The golf hub will be showcased to visitors at an open day on

Saturday, March 14 and a formal launch will take place later this year as part of a celebration of the centenary of Glenalmond Golf Course.

It was funded by former pupils and friends of the school, and hosts two simulation bays using SKYTRAK and ‘ The Golf Club’ software.

The school says the investment, which will also see the creation of a new six hole putting and chipping green, is part of a substantial commitment to underpin its growing profile.

The Golf School at Glenalmond is led by PGA level three coach Tim Mitchell, who is the college’s head of golf.

He said: “We are very proud of our golf course, which is a unique asset of our school, and the creation of our new hub takes our golf offer to a new and exciting level.

“We were delighted to welcome Carly back to Glenalmond to visit the hub and hugely appreciate her taking time out of her busy schedule to inspire our pupils.”
