Katie McCandless Thomas Hundreds of traders set to exhibit at event

-

Over 500 traders are expected to exhibit at Scotland’s largest country sports event in Perthshire later this year.

Organisers of the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust Scotland (GWCT) Scottish Game Fair say they have received an “exceptional response” after putting out an appeal for traders to support the event.

The GWCT Scottish Game Fair, which takes place at Scone Palace Parklands on July 3-5, offers visitors unrivalled shopping opportunities across food, country sports, arts and crafts and clothing.

Always a big draw for visitors is the fair’s food hall, which was the recent focus of two episodes of the BBC Farmer’s Country Showdown series that explored the farm to fair journey of four of its traders.

This year offers a similarly impressive line- up of producers, while the food theatre will host several new chefs who will be showcasing their skills in demonstrations all weekend long.

Bruce Russell, director of GWCT in Scotland, said: “It is great to see so many traders keen to return to the

Fair as well as an exciting line up of new faces.

“Last year we welcomed over 30,000 people through the gates and, with tickets selling fast for the 2020 event, this year looks set to be no different.”

Proceeds from the Scottish Game Fair go to the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust Scotland’s charitable work to raise vital funds for wildlife conservation science in Scotland.
