Sign-up for art event

-

Artists and other creative talents have been invited to take part in this year’s Perthshire Open Studios.

And organisers have stressed the importance of signing-up early as a maximum of 140 venues are able to take part.

This year’s event will take place across Perthshire and Kinross-shire between September 5 and 13 and is expected to attract visitors from all across the region and far beyond.

In addition there will also be a showcase exhibition at the Bield near Blackruthen – which will include a number of artists-in-residence – plus a display of work at Pitlochry Festival Theatre.

Perthshire Open Studios president Glenys Andrews said:“Perthshire Open Studios is going from strength to strength.

“Last year the 140 studios taking part, and the 200 artists and makers showing their work, attracted around 15,500 visitors.

“They come from all over Scotland and beyond to see a wonderful range of paintings, jewellery, photography, ceramics and much more, in a huge variety of locations and to explore one of the loveliest parts of Scotland.

“And the event is now so popular with artists that we really would advise people to apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”

A 2019 visitor survey showed high levels of satisfaction among visitors – and nearly two thirds had enjoyed a previous POS so much that they had decided to come again.

Registration for this year is now open and closes on April 19.
