Appeal to send in clips

-

Two Strath film-makers have been inviting residents to get involved in their lockdown videos.

Rachel Hendry of Wild Soul Films is encouraging locals to get involved in her project about life in lockdown, while documenter of local happenings Lynn Macgregor, of Strathearn Snapshots, is editing together a quirky video for YouTube that will make it appear that people are passing a toilet roll around the world.

The deadline for video submissions for Rachel’s film is April 24 at 6pm.

She said:“You can take part from the safety and comfort of your home and the only equipment you need is your phone.

“This is a video project for families and people of all ages. And it’s simple and easy to get involved.

“You take a short video clip on your phone. Your clip will either be showing something positive that you are doing with your time spent in lockdown or sharing a positive lesson that you’ve learned during your time in lockdown and how it has changed your perspective.

“Get as creative as you like. Funny, fun, entertaining, kind, caring, thoughtful, and reflective video clips are all great!”

Rachel will edit all the clips into a compilation video.

She added:“The final, edited collaborative video will be shared on social media to spread positive messages about the lessons we’ve learned so far in a time of crisis, help create a sense of community and connection in times of social isolation, and help spark more ideas for others living life in lockdown.”

Clips should be approximately five to 25 seconds long, .mov or mp4 video files and no larger than 2gb.

Upload the clips via WeTransfer to wildsoulfilms@gmail.com.

Lynn explained that for her video she had originally thrown out the suggestion as a challenge to Comrie folk.

She said:“I was missing getting out and about in the village and thought a wee video might make people smile.

“But then I began getting sent clips from around the world so I extended it to friends of Comrie as well.

“I now have around 100 clips of people passing the loo roll so I think I’ll probably make the deadline for submissions this Sunday.

“Some of the clips I’ve been sent are really funny. It’s amazing how inventive people are being at doing something as simple as passing the loo roll along the line!”
