Popular park reopens with extra measures in place
Auchingarrich Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre Wildlife Centre welcomed its first visitors for months this week as lockdown restriction were further eased.
Owners Andrew and Maxine Scott have been busy putting safety measures in place over the past few weeks at the popular attraction near Comrie.
And Maxine said: “We have had a few new additions during had a few new additions during lockdown, such as our baby goat, and a surprise lamb. When the mum was scanned she hadn’t shown up as being pregnant.”

It has been quiet at Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre for the past few months, but that’s set to change this week as restrictions are lifted and visitors can once again get up close to the animals.

Andrew told the Herald: “Tickets can be booked online to avoid handling cash and the numbers in the park will be restricted
“We are expecting the cafe will be open as usual though.
“We have put in five new sinks, 15 hand gel stations, more signage and de-misters in the play areas.”
Maxine added: “People will have to wear masks in all of the indoor areas. The soft play area will remain closed and it could be a while before we can reopen that.
“We have had a few new additions during lockdown, such as our baby goat, and a surprise lamb. When the mum was scanned she hadn’t shown up as being pregnant. “Our pig is also due to give birth soon.’’ Another creature likely to be a hit with visitors is Spud.
Maxine hand-reared the young dove after he fell out of the nest and he has become so tame that he likes to land on people’s heads.
