Virtual classes for Braco Show

-

Is your pooch the fastest sausage-eater?

That’s one of the classes in the virtual Dog Show, organised by Ardoch Argicultural Society.

Braco Show was due to take place on Saturday, July 25, but the pandemic has put paid to any action in the rings at Lodge Park.

However, that doesn’t mean show fans have to miss out altogether as organisers have decided to host some virtual competitions instead.

As well as the Dog Show, which also has classes for Prettiest Bitch, Most Handsome Dog, Cleverest Trick and Fancy Dress, there are competitions for young handlers, horse-riders and budding photographers.

Open to youngsters aged 14 and under, young handlers are invited to send in a photo and video of themselves and any farm animal.

The video should start with the competitor holding the animal, letting it go in a small pen and then catching it again.

Photographers are also invited to send in their favourite photographs from past Braco Shows.

Pictures can be posted on the Braco Show Facebook page or emailed to bracoshow@hotmail.co.uk.

The photos will be collated and uploaded to the Facebook page where users will give their favourites a ‘like’, and the winning photograph will feature as the cover photo for the page.

And judges will adjudicate a virtual horse show, which will take the form of submitted videos and photographs.

There are classes for in-hand and ridden juniors and adults in the video section, and a photography section for Cutest Combo, Best Mane and Tail and Golden Oldie.

All of the competitions are free.

For more information and rules, go to the Braco Show Facebook page or call secretary Sarah Rattray on 07792 460157.

Ent ry deadline for all the competitions is Sunday, July 19, at 5pm with results being announced on Saturday, July 25.
