Rhona Brock (Ind) Strathearn
Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my constituents in my ward (Strathearn) a safer and better 2021.
This year has been a very challenging year due to the Covid-19 pandemic but, as challenging as it has been and still is, I would like to commend the businesses within Strathearn that have had to adapt to a very different way to survive. They went out of their way in making sure that those self-isolating during the lockdown period got supplies. I feel for each and every one of them, sometimes struggling, but they have continued against the odds and soldiered on.
This has been a time that all groups, community councils and organisations have all got together and helped their communities in any way that they could.
The town and villages may not have seen the floral displays that we have been used to seeing, but when the opportunity arose the groups tried their very best to brighten the areas up.
This year many households displayed their Christmas decorations inside and out far earlier than normal, it was felt by many that they just wanted to put some cheer about.
Many events, sports and funding opportunities for charities have all suffered this year, let’s get behind them in supporting when we can.
Looking towards 2021 there are many projects in
Cllr Rhona
Soldiering on
Brock the pipeline, with funding being approved towards the Drummond Arms, Strathearn Hotel, Crieff Hotel, rolling out Wi -Fi for Comrie and the new B &M store.
This gives us something to go forward with when permitted to do so.
