Harriers get on their marks

-

Members of Strathearn Harriers are to return to training on Friday this week.

The latest coronavirus lockdown easing measures mean outdoor non-contact sports and group exercise were able to resume for adults in groups of up to 15 people from Friday last week.

And a spokesperson for the local club confirmed on Monday: “From this Friday, March 19, club training runs are restarting, with certain social distancing rules and group sizes.

“Structured training will follow soon.”

The club welcomes children and adults of all abilities.

Juniors — aged from nine to 17 — normally meet at 5.30pm on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Taylor Park in Crieff, but anyone interested is asked to check in advance at the moment.

The spokesperson added: “While all sports clubs have struggled this last year, athletics has been luckier than most as it can be a solo activity.

“People probably assume that the Strathearn Harriers have not been busy as a club, quite the opposite.”
