The conversation turns to elections
Comrie Conversations has lined up two speakers for a Scottish election special.
Launched in 2013 with the aim of openly discussing the issues of importance for Scotland in the lead up to the 2014 referendum, the concept of Comrie Conversations went from strength to strength, regularly packing audiences into the White Church and going on to discuss other issues surrounding Scotland’s future.
Last year it went online with its discussions, bringing the conversation to an even wider audience with leading speakers.
Its latest offering is an election special focusing on environmental issues and the best way forward for securing a habitable planet for future generations.
Those tuning in will have the opportunity to hear and engage with two stimulating
and inspiring speakers ahead of going to the polls on May 6.
As Mayor of Copenhagen, Bo Asmus Kjeldgaard was the architect of the city’s green agenda and zero carbon ambitions, while Stephen Paton is a campaigning journalist who writes extensively about creating a fairer, greener Scotland.
Alan Caldwell, one of the organisers of Comrie Conversations, said:“We are just delighted to have the former mayor of Copenhagen to speak at Comrie Community Conversations. It puts our wee village on the international stage.”
Comrie Conversations Election Special takes place on Sunday, April 25, from 1pm.
