Sadness as flower show is called off
Dear Editor
Due to current restrictions and the uncertainty of these being lifted any time soon, the committee of Strathearn Horticultural Society has taken the sad decision to cancel our flower show, which was due to take place in September.
We feel we need to make this decision now to give our competitors this notice as, not only is the growing season now upon us, but handicrafts will be being made.
We very much hope to see everyone in 2022.
Thank you.

Would you like to field that runs along the main road from Crieff to Muthill.
Anyone wishing to submit an image can
upskill, keep busy or meet new people?
Volunteering with The British Heart Foundation (BHF) Scotland offers a range of opportunities and with our shops open once again, we need your help now more than ever.
Whether you can spare a few hours or a couple of days a week, the gift of time is vital to the BHF.
Every hour given helps us raise funds to support the 700,000 people in Scotland living with heart and circulatory diseases.
This year marks the BHF’s 60th anniversary and as we look forward to National Volunteering Week – which runs from June 1 to 7 – we’d love you to join our team.
Volunteers can help on the shop floor, in administration, in our warehouses or as stock collection drivers.
For students keen to develop their skills, those wanting experience to get back into work or members of the community hoping to meet new people, we can help you – and you can help the BHF save and improve lives.

Volunteer appeal issuedbycharity
Dear Editor
Blue Cross is looking for volunteers to help with the charity’s pet bereavement support service, which has been running for over 26 years.
The charity has seen a huge increase in demand for the UK-wide service, and as a result has launched a new web
chat facility to help reach even more people who are in need of advice and support following the loss of a beloved pet.
Volunteers will be helping to provide support to people contacting the bereavement support service by phone, email and the new webchat services between 8.30am and 8.30pm every day.
The role will require volunteers to undertake a 10-week training course and to be able to commit to working a minimum of 15 hours per month.
If you would like to help you can find out more information by searching for the website www.bluecross.org.uk/ volunteer.
Yours faithfully,
Diane James, pet bereavement support service,
