Fitness facilities at St r a t h e a r n Community Campus re- opened to the public on Monday last week.

Anyone wishing to make use of the Pittenzie Road hub has to book in advance via the Live Active Leisure website.

And, to coincide with the re- opening, the area’s charitable sport and leisure trust recently unveiled a free, six-week, ‘Back into Fitness’ workout programme.

Kelly Parker, marketing and communications mana g e r f o r L AL , commented: “We know that many of our customers can’t wait to get back to the gym.

“It has been a tough year, and we want to encourage everyone to get active with this free, six- week, programme.

“We hope this programme will help everyone find a new fitness routine to suit their needs.

“It includes options for varying fitness levels and lots of great ideas and inspiration – think of us as an old friend cheering you on!”

The programme was announced at the same time as LAL unveiled a new online booking system.

This has been designed to allow both members and non-members to book sessions in advance at a

variety of venues.

Paul Cromwell is the CEO of the region- wide charitable trust.

He said: “LAL has always held an important role at the heart of our communities, offering affordable access to good quality sport and fitness opportunities.

“And, although our lives have changed significantly over the past year, this remains our key priority.

“Ensuring customer confidence and giving the people of Perth and Kinross a great reason to return to our venues, and to get their health and fitness back on track is crucial.

“We all understand how difficult it has been and

there has never been a greater time to make sure we give our customers the opportunity to exercise – helping to support their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

“Our team has come up with a great programme and I’m really pleased we have made the decision to offer it to everyone.

“This free programme reflects the company’s commitment to helping everyone in our communities ease back into their fitness activities and sporting lives.”

Mr Cromwell continued: “Following autumn 2020’s short re- opening, our tried and tested processes and safety measures are

already in place, providing customers with confidence as they plan their return.

“And, although it remains a different sport and leisure experience from pre-Covid times, we are looking forward to re-opening and welcoming our customers back. Re- opening plans have been made based on Perth and Kinross going into level three on April 26, and then into level two on May 17, when we hope fitness classes will resume.”

In addition to Strathearn Community Campus, a host of other venues reopened last week.

However, Perth Leisure Pool remains closed due to work being undertaken following flooding.

Bowlers are glad to be back on the green in Comrie for some socially distanced ends in the sunshine. The village’s green opened for the new season recently and matches are taking place in accordance with Covid-19 guidelines.
