Great to see how people can get behind a common cause

- Strathearn ward Conservative councillor Noah Khogali

I must admit, it has been a little bit of a whirlwind since the elections in May, and I feel like I have barely managed to get started.

It has been a challenging year for so many, but the immense community spirit demonstrated by the people of Strathearn, in the face of yet another international crisis, is incredibly inspiring.

It has been fantastic to see how quickly people have been able to come together and get behind a common cause, and how powerful they are when they do.

Given Christmas should be, first and foremost, a time of thanks, I must show gratitude to all those who have acted as facilitators to these projects, and offered their time and resources to support those who need it most.

A huge vote of thanks must also go to those who have given their time to community councils over the past term, and those who joined them at the end of this year.

They are a hugely effective vehicle to enact valuable changes in communities, as well as a unifying, powerful, voice through which larger issues can be flagged to local and national government.

It must be said however, that it was incredibly disappointing as a result that Crieff Community Council is no longer sitting, and that it will be a key goal of mine in 2023 to try to get it back up and running.

There are a number of incredible development and social enterprise projects in Crieff that I have had the honour of engaging with since May.

The Crieff Connexions project has the potential to provide key support to those who may be

struggling, the various arts projects can revitalise the reputation of Strathearn across Scotland and the various cemetery‘Friends’groups are continuing to ensure that due respect is given back to the people of Strathearn who played their part in making our community what it is today.

There are too many projects to mention them all, but I would like to sincerely thank all of them

for their work in making Strathearn such an incredible place to live.

I hope that everyone had an incredible Christmas and that, as we move into 2023, we can make Strathearn just a little better, all in our own way.

I will continue to do my best to serve you all and, once again, thank you all for your support.
