Feedback sessions on hub for Muthill

Consultations and survey

- JOHNATHON MENZIES

The latest consultation events designed to help locals shape plans for a new community hub in Muthill are set to take place next week.

Anyone with an interest in the potential facility is invited to attend a feedback session which is due to be held from 3- 5pm and 7- 8.30pm on Monday, February 20, in Muthill Village Hall.

An online ‘digital drop-in’ has also been planned from 6-7pm on Wednesday, February 22.

This will be followed by another inperson consultation event at the village hall from 3-5pm and 7-8.30pm on Friday, March 17.

All of the events are part of an ongoing drive by a collective known as Muthill Community Forum – an umbrella group which includes representatives from the likes of Muthill Village Trust, Muthill Parish Church, Muthill Primary School Parent Council, the village hall committee and Muthill and Tullibardine Community Council – to create a new facility for the community.

Following a tender process, Glasgow architectural firm Anderson Bell + Christie ( AB+ C) has been appointed to undertake an options appraisal and feasibility study.

The firm’s remit is to look at existing sites and buildings and options for new and upgraded sites; meet with stakeholders; consult with the whole community through events and surveys; look at other village issues such as accessibility, road safety and sustainability; prepare a vision for new community facilities and provide costs for the agreed new option.

A project spokesperson said: “The Muthill Community Forum are working to create a plan for the future of the village and part of that is finding a vision for a new community hub.

“By building on the good things in our

community, we want to make it an even greater place to live, work, play and visit.

“We want to hear your views about what the priorities should be for Muthill and to set out a future for a new facility as part of that vision.

“What you tell us will help us to plan the things that happen here and which will make a direct difference to you, your family and neighbours.”

In addition to the upcoming consultation events, an online survey is also available until March 17.

Organisers have said that paper copies will be available at next week’s consultation events.

The spokesperson continued: “A final event will be held over the weekend of March 17. More information will follow in relation to this at a later date.

“This is your community – please participate and give your views to AB+C. This will inform the proposals put forward on March 17.

“Everyone, no matter how young or old, has a chance to have their say.”

The online survey can be accessed via https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/ Muthill_Survey.
