PGA professional’s legacy will‘forever be part of club’
Friends, family and appreciative members gathered at Crieff Golf Club on Tuesday to show their gratitude to long-serving PGA professional David Murchie.
Invaluable asset David is retiring from his role after a remarkable 39 seasons of dedicated service at the highly-regarded club.
Colleagues praised his “consistently unwavering commitment, exceptional professionalism and a passion for excellence.”
A spokesperson for Crieff Golf Club went on to say: “His contributions have not only shaped our success but have also left an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of our team.
“Throughout the years, David has not only been a dependable colleague but a true friend, mentor and coach to many.
“His wisdom and experience has enriched our club in countless ways.
“He has shown remarkable dedication, and his achievements stand as a testament to his hard work and talent.
“As we celebrate David’s retirement, we look back on the remarkable journey that he has had with Crieff – the memories we’ve shared, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the triumphs we’ve celebrated are all part of this incredible story.
“Though we will miss David in our day-to-day operations, we know that his well-deserved retirement is the start of an exciting new adventure.
“May these years ahead be filled with relaxation, joy and adventures in golf.”
Crieff Golf Club general manager, Anna McLean, said: “After a long and very distinguished association as PGA professional at Crieff, we would like to wish David all the very best for a long and happy retirement.
“During his time with Crieff, David also held the position of PGA chair, from 2014 to 2017, and in this capacity provided the opening speech at the Ryder Cup in 2016 held at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, Minnesota.
“A well-known face throughout the industry, David will now have the time to relax and spend quality time with the family as well as picking up and enjoying the game of golf once again!
“I’d like to thank him for his dedication and commitment over the many years.
“His legacy will forever be a part of Crieff Golf Club, and his impact will continue to inspire us.”
