The Android-powered Nokia 6 first appeared in China last year – but when it arrives here soon it’ll come with an improved 8MP front-facing camera to go with its 5.5in 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and Snapdragon 430 processor. Clearly those aren’t Galaxy S8 specs but the version of the OS it runs is untouched, which is good news if you prefer pure Android.

Nokia’s reputation for making reassuringly sturdy phones hasn’t disappeared – while your heart will still likely skip a beat if you drop it in the street, its hefty chassis, carved from a solid block of aluminium, feels a lot more solid than other Android phones at this price.
