Google’s first ‘made by’ phone failed to make a real dent in the competition when it was released last year – but the Nexus’s successor still has a lot going for it.
For starters the camera’s an absolute belter, with speedy autofocus and excellent lowlight performance thanks to electronic image stabilisation tech shared by no other phone. A 5in 1080p screen doesn’t sound like much but this one’s sharp and full of detail.
There’s 4GB of RAM and it does 15-minute charging – but with that rapidly becoming the norm, and a processor that’s beginning to be outpaced, the Pixel will start to show its age soon enough. Expect a refresh around October.
