Gone Girl meets Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy is a great pitch for a WWII movie, but Allied never lives up to its ambitions. Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard are badly misused over a muddled two hours that swerves from frothy spectacle to high-tension whodunnit. Still, fans of preposterous sex scenes will enjoy the car-in-a-sandstorm romp.
