Tested Garmin Fenix 5
If you’re after a comprehensive multi-sport tracker, this pricey but very talented Garmin could be your new object of wristy desire
A super smartwatch for serious athletes
£500 / stuff.tv/fenix5 There are two types of people in this world: those who are happy to track their daily step counts with a Fitbit, and those who must… track… everything.
For the latter, a run-of-thegym wearable just won’t do. For such people, a wearable must be built like the proverbial outdoor hygiene facility, measure every activity, statistic and variable known to mankind, and look good doing it. And for them, Garmin has built the Fenix 5.
The Fenix 5 wraps a suite of tracking abilities, connected smarts and general usefulness in a stunning shell. It really is gorgeous, steering away from the overzealous bulk of many go-anywhere watches and opting for a subtle steel frontage.
While you won’t forget you’re wearing it, the Fenix 5 doesn’t stick out too high on the wrist. It’ll just slip beneath a shirt cuff, which is good, because you’ll want to wear this baby all the time. At £500, though, you’ll be paying for the luxury. Can the Fenix 5 justify its price tag?
