PALM PILOT DJI SPARK

-

Ever since their inception, it’s been possible to chuck drones into the sky and wave at them. Only now, though, will waving actually stop them from flying off into the sunset (before, presumably, running out of battery and crashing violently into the sea). DJI’S Spark drone is a compact flyer that launches from your palm, before following your hand gestures and snapping aerial shots when you make a finger frame.

Once you’re all done gesticulating, it’ll help you nail pro footage too, with pre-configured Quickshots (aerial moves that replicate common shots from the movies) and smart target tracking so it can film you on the move. It’s all stabilised on a two-axle gimbal, for steady Full HD shots from the 1/2.3in CMOS sensor. Bored of being in control? The Spark can also go fully autonomous, avoiding objects and sensitive areas (while beaming images from up to 2km away) before returning home after 16 minutes for a wave hello. As hot as… an actual spark £519 / stuff.tv/djispark
