On the surface, this Surface – which surfaced recently in Shanghai – is the same as the last one. But suffice it to say, Microsoft’s latest hybrid hasn’t been left to languish: some under-the-hood tinkering has delivered 13.5 hours of battery life, 4G wireless on board and a nice new 165° hinge. Side by side with the Pro 4 you’ll struggle to spot the difference (the pair share a 12.3in Pixelsense display), but at 770g, this one’s a proper featherweight machine. In fact, Microsoft reckons this Surface is the lightest hybrid of its type ever made – and it also comes with a faster, more accurate Surface Pen to boot. £799 / microsoft.com
