U’s a beauty
There’s more to the design than squeezability, but is there enough glam to make it your fashion accessory?
Amazing graceful
Sapphire blue, brilliant black and ice white all make a return, alongside two brand new shades: amazing silver and solar red. The latter – a lovely crimson shade – will not be available at launch.
Wish you were hear
The U11 has its fair share of microphones – four, placed at different points on the phone so you can record 3D audio. HTC reckons it’s the best sound recording you’ll get on a smartphone.
Hey good lookin’
The 5.5in LCD display uses an IPS panel, with a QHD resolution and the familiar 16:9 aspect ratio. That’s pretty much par for the course for a flagship in 2017, but it gives a good first impression.
The jack ripper
Look around the edges all you want, but you won’t spot a 3.5mm audio socket – it’s USB-C or Bluetooth only. HTC does bundle in a Usb-to-jack adaptor so you can use your own buds.
