Lindy BNX-60 What’s the story?
Ten points for guessing what Lindy is doing here. Actually, it’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? The BNX-60S are a low-cost copycat of the Bose QC35S. And do you know what? They’re very impressive indeed. Packing a serious array of features for the price, including active noise cancellation, these wireless headphones don’t look especially cool but are comfy and easy to wear – more so than even the QC35S.
Are they any good?
Keep your expectations realistic and you’ll love these Lindys. The noise cancellation isn’t close to Bose levels: it just takes the edge off low frequencies so you’re less likely to have to crank up the volume on the train. But you get a dynamic and engaging sound with punchy bass that’s among the best at the price. Better yet, battery life is a solid 15 hours. Stuff says +++++ Decent noise cancellation and much better sound than you’d expect at this price
AKG N60 NC Wireless What’s the story?
Recognise these? They’re the wireless version of the wired N60 NCS that came out in 2015. You’ll pay a premium of £45 to lose the wire, but the added convenience is absolutely worth it. With a lightweight on-ear fit in a smart black finish and collapsible design, they feel solid and well built. The earcups are nicely cushioned, and the band is not ear-squishingly tight.
Are they any good?
Yes – they’re superb for the price. With the noise cancellation activated, a large chunk of your surroundings are cut out and the sound itself is extremely likeable. What’s most striking is the clarity through the mid-range and treble – the detail in vocals is superb. Plus, you’ll get 15 hours of Bluetooth playback and 30 hours when wired. Stuff says +++++ These great-sounding noise-killers give pricier options a fierce run for their money
Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Wireless What’s the story?
Noise-cancelling headphones are rarely sexy, but these Sennheisers show it can be done. They’re immaculately built, with soft leather cushioning around the ears and foldable arms to make them just as portable as the plasticky competition. Playback controls are included on the right earcup too.
Are they any good?
These cans are as effective at blocking out the droning of a plane cabin as they are at dulling the piercing noise of a crying baby. The sound is full, precise and expressive: bass is deep and controlled, and underpins a mid-range full of subtle detail. Battery life is excellent at 22 hours, and after that you can use the wire for passive listening. Stuff says +++++ Luxurious wireless headphones that sound excellent and are built to last
