What’s the story? e old timer of this test, Yuneec’s Breeze 4K has been around for close to two years now. at’s practically prehistoric for a drone – it’s a world where tech moves on even quicker than it takes Taylor Swift to find her next beau.

Just like your grandpa, the Breeze hobbles along at a tortoisey 11mph and needs a recharge after just 12 minutes of action. So why would you bother keeping the Breeze 4K out of retirement? Well, it’s a matter of price. At £299 this is one of the cheapest Ultra HD drones on the market. Not even

the £449 DJI Spark can claim this level of video resolution.

Is it any good? Yuneec might be boasting about the Breeze’s 4K capabilities, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you get great footage. In fact, since the sensor is so tiny, video quality comes off a little flat. e lack of a 3-axis gimbal doesn’t help either, as footage can look wonky or juddery when the Breeze 4K encounters a few gusts of wind.

It does, however, have a few automated flight modes. ese work as well as you could wish for and are a great way for

novice flyers to easily get some breathtaking shots. As long as you can manage its tendency to drift off course…

So while the Breeze doesn’t offer fun aerobatic manoeuvres, it’s still efficient at getting the job done (and the selfies taken) with minimum fuss and effort. Which means there’s life in this veteran drone yet.
