Parrot Bebop 2 Power

What’s the story?
e Bebop 2 Power might be nominally new, but it’s really just a jazzed-up edition of the old Bebop 2, slapped with a fresh coat of slinky matt black paint and equipped with a longer-lasting battery.
In fact, you get two batteries in this bundle, each delivering up to 30 minutes of flight. at’s a generous amount of air time for the money and, thanks to a new long-range controller, one of our previous peeves about Parrot has been pecked off: the once-spotty transmission range will now let you fly much further. We managed a good 400m or
so before the video feed started getting choppy.
Is it any good? One issue that’s not been fixed is the camera quality. Despite decent-sounding specs –1080p video and 14MP still photos – the Power’s fisheye lens renders everything blurry and indistinct. Compared to similarly-priced models from Yuneec and DJI, the Parrot’s camera is a disappointing dud. e 8GB of on-board storage fills up fast too, with no way to expand it.
is is a shame because the Bebop 2 Power is super-easy to fly. e app and physical controls
are pleasingly simple and, while there’s no obstacle avoidance tech, it’s so responsive that you can dodge those devious trees with ease.
A bundled pair of FPV goggles (operated via your phone) adds an extra dimension of fun, but ultimately the Bebop 2 Power’s dodgy camera makes it a hard drone to recommend.
