Transform your old tin cans into stylish desk pots

Clean tin cans Piece of wood for base Old map (preferably canvas backed) Junior hacksaw Scissors Mod Podge, £4, Hobbycraft Small paintbrush Bradawl Screws

1 Arrange the cans on your piece of wood to work out the size the base needs to be, then cut to size using the hacksaw. Lay the board onto the map and cut around with the scissors, adding 5cm to cover the sides, too. Cut pieces of map to fit around each tin can, with a 1cm overlap. 2 Brush Mod Podge onto the back of the map pieces using the paintbrush, then smooth into place around each can and leave to dry. Repeat to stick the map to the base board, too, wrapping around the edges and underside. Carefully make two holes in the base of each can with a bradawl and arrange them in place on the base board. Screw through the tin cans to the board to secure.
