Trans­form your old tin cans into stylish desk pots

Clean tin cans Piece of wood for base Old map (prefer­ably can­vas backed) Ju­nior hack­saw Scis­sors Mod Podge, £4, Hobbycraft Small paint­brush Bradawl Screws

1 Ar­range the cans on your piece of wood to work out the size the base needs to be, then cut to size us­ing the hack­saw. Lay the board onto the map and cut around with the scis­sors, adding 5cm to cover the sides, too. Cut pieces of map to fit around each tin can, with a 1cm over­lap. 2 Brush Mod Podge onto the back of the map pieces us­ing the paint­brush, then smooth into place around each can and leave to dry. Re­peat to stick the map to the base board, too, wrap­ping around the edges and un­der­side. Care­fully make two holes in the base of each can with a bradawl and ar­range them in place on the base board. Screw through the tin cans to the board to se­cure.
