Try your hand at creating a luxury lookalike statement piece for a fraction of the cost
This month we're loving the cowhide Montana chest of drawers by atkin & thyme, so we've been inspired to put an easy spin on the design to create our own upcycled piece. using wallpaper samples to emulate the quirky mismatched effect is a smart way to keep the project cost down.

Albany Natural Textures A4 wallpaper samples, 75p each, Wallpaper Direct PVA glue & paintbrush Scissors
1 Remove the drawers from the unit and unscrew the handles. Spray the body of the chest, the sides of each drawer and the handles with the paint. Leave to dry before applying a second coat.
2 Once dry, sit each drawer upright on the floor and lay the wallpaper samples on top to work out the best design. Cut to size and brush on PVA glue to stick them in place, smoothing out any air bubbles as you go. Once dry, push holes gently through the paper and reattach the handles.
