1 Lift the shelves out of the cabi­net and wipe the unit down to re­move any dust. Coat the whole unit and the shelves with Ar­les chalk paint, apart from the back panel which stays un­painted. Don’t worry if you get any paint on the glass; this can be re­moved with a scraper later on. Leave to dry be­fore ap­ply­ing a sec­ond coat. 2 Ap­ply a layer of pro­tec­tive wax to the paint and leave to dry. Brush PVA glue over the in­side back panel of the unit and stick the wrap­ping paper in place, tak­ing care to smooth out any air bub­bles. Al­low the glue to dry com­pletely be­fore plac­ing the shelves back into the cabi­net.
