How to… wrap a bottle

YOU WILL NEED

Metallized wrapping film or cellophane Bottle of wine or Champagne Curling string sharp scissors

1Lay your sheet of wrapping film face down (if coloured or patterned) onto a flat surface. Place the bottle upright in the centre of the film and make sure you have enough to cover the sides and come up over the top of the bottle.

2Wrap the sheet of film around the bottle by lifting the edges from the table up to the top of the bottle. to keep the film taut, hold it at the top as you gradually work around the bottle, starting from the front and creating pleats as you go.

3Gather the wrapping film together at the top of the bottle and secure in place with curling string in a contrasting colour. Use a pair of scissors to define the curl for a final flourish, if desired.
