Keep it neutral and rustic for laid-back living
This look feels fresh and easy in summer, but cosy and welcoming in winter, for year-round style. CREATE A BACKDROP Put texture on the walls and floor with a faux-finish wallpaper of peeling planks or exposed brick effects, or try a ditsy, tonal pattern that gives the effect of a texture. Stick to simple whitewashed planks, or open-weave carpet or sisal flooring.
Add SIMPLE FURNITURE Texture has to be the hero, so keep shapes simple and stick to raw wood or painted wood finishes. KEEP COLOURS CALM For a layered, tonal look, pick a palette of neutrals and mix them freely with lots of fresh white. If you can’t resist a bit of an accent colour, try adding a touch of earthy blush pink – it’s great for giving a bedroom warmth.
