ABOUT ME I’m Sarah Grant, 39, and I live here with my husband Karl, 39, and our daughter ava, seven. We run an online boutique, thewhitewashhare.weebly.com.

OUR HOME We live in a former chapel in north Bedfordshire, which was originally built in 1807. We moved here in april 2014.

WHEN WE BOUGHT IT the chapel was converted in 1994, so we made no structural changes. however, it had lots of dark wood throughout, the front steps were collapsing, windows needed replacing and the garden was a mess.

AND NOW We’ve repainted and transformed the house with a style that balances its history and age.

STYLE TIP We write tasks that need to be done and things we want for the house on sticky notes and put them in a book.
