Be inspired by Sue’s characterful vintage look and steal some ideas to try yourself. Much of the background colour in her cosy cottage has been kept pale and muted in soft shades of cream, ivory and pale grey.

Another of Sue’s clever tricks is to bring in colour and pattern using cheery fabrics, soft furnishings, artwork and accessories, teamed with colourful painted furniture and quirky upcycled finds. Combined with the rustic wood floorboards (dark wood would look overwhelming) the effect is light and restful.
