Make it! UPCYCLED writing DESK

-

1 Find a piece of furniture, such as a console or side table (have a look in your local charity shop or on ebay) with a top large enough for a desk area. 2 Remove the existing legs and sand down the surface all over if the piece is not in a good condition. Wipe down with a cloth. 3 Use a screwdriver and the correct sized screws to fix a set of metal hairpin legs to the underside of the flat surface. Use a ruler and pencil to mark the screw holes beforehand to make sure they are evenly spaced. 4 If your desk has a backboard, cut a piece of wallpaper to size and stick in place by covering the board with PVA glue and smoothing the paper into place, removing any air bubbles. 5 To tie it in with your scheme, give the legs a coat of metal paint in a co-ordinating colour.
