BARCA TO REV UP RASHFORD HUNT

- By Jim Holden

OLE, OLE, OLE, OLE, OLE sang the fans – one for each goal scored by Manchester United yesterday in a 5-1 thrashing of Cardiff as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a dream start as interim manager.

United had not scored five times in a Premier League match for almost six years, and never since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.

It is an amazing statistic – and Solskjaer enjoyed an amazing start in his mission to transform the mood and results of a team that slumped so badly under Jose Mourinho. “Football is easy if you’ve got very good and talented players,” said Solskjaer afterwards. “They are a great bunch and

their quality is BARCELONA are ready to launch a bid to stop England striker Marcus Rashford from joining arch-rivals Real Madrid.

Barca bosses have compiled a dossier as they court wonderkid Rashford, whose long-term future at Old unbelievable. I only had two days with the players. Wayne Rooney texted to give me some advice, so it must be down to him!

“He told me to make them play football, enjoy themselves and be Manchester United.

“What I would say is that Man United teams always play better in the second half of the season.”

Jesse Lingard scored twice, while Trafford is in doubt. Rashford has seen his progress checked over the last season under Jose Mourinho and he has only scored five league goals for United this season. He could look to quit United if he doesn’t kick on under new caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Barca have been keeping an eye on Rashford and are keen not to lose him to Real if he becomes available.

AC Milan are also keen as they want to make a marquee signing this summer.
