Unexpected Bond in the bagging area

- By Ruth Hughes

CHECK out Pierce Brosnan! He’s back as Bond and he has a licence to... sell groceries.

The suave actor, who played 007 in four of the hit films, is the face of the supermarket chain Spar.

In a new advert for Spar Austria’s premium range the 65-year-old, who appeared in GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day, is seen dressed in the spy’s trademark tuxedo.

He enters a chic futuristic home and – after getting past some state-of-the-art security – makes his way to the kitchen where he comes face to face with... himself.

But all is not what it seems as Brosnan’s double then whips off a mask to reveal a beautiful brunette underneath.

The pair then cosy up for dinner with a selection of ham and cheese from the Spar Premium range.

As they raise a toast, Brosnan gives another nod to his former Bond role and says: “There’s only one – the original.”

Brosnan has worked with Spar Austria since 2010. Marketing head Dr Gerhard Fritsch said: “We are delighted that Pierce has decided to continue his partnership with us.

“He is one of a few true gentlemen actors and embodies style, class and luxury, the same values that Spar Premium stands for.”

Brosnan recently reprised his role as Sam in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.
