Japan, ‘the land of the rising sum’

- By David Maddox

JAPAN will continue to be one of Britain’s “most important trading partners” after Brexit with a deal worth an extra £3billion in revenue, Liam Fox said last night, writes Marco Giannangeli.

It comes after a meeting between Theresa May and Shinzo Abe saw the Japanese PM renewing his commitment for an “ambitious bilateral agreement” which will build on an existing free trade deal with the EU.

International Trade Secretary Dr Fox said: “Businesses will be able to capitalise on the massive demand for British products and services.” DISILLUSIONED Labour voters are fuelling a massive demand for a new party in British politics, an exclusive poll for the Sunday Express has revealed.

According to the Norstat poll of 1,093 adults across the UK, 59 per cent of voters back a new political force.

The figure was boosted by Labour voters with 69 per cent saying they want a new party.

In comparison, just 29 per cent of Conservative voters wanted a new party.

The result comes after the Sunday Express revelation that a new Remainer party is on the verge of being formed.

Sources claim it will be made up of senior Labour moderates led by former shadow business secretary Chuka Umunna and former shadow chancellor Chris Leslie with Tory defectors including Broxtowe MP Anna Soubry.

A senior Labour moderate last night told the Sunday Express that the poll is close to private polling carried out by MPs and business figures working on setting up a new party.

The MP said: “Things are on
