MAN CITY ........... 5 BURNLE Y ............ 0

YOU can swear on Manchester City loving the ‘B’ word in cup competitions, with 10 goals blasted past Burton in the Carabao Cup and now five against Burnley in the FA Cup.

That means they have notched an incredible 108 goals in this gruelling season, fighting on four fronts.

This romp over battered Burnley means that City have lost just one of their last 21 matches against the Clarets in all competitions.

And really that other record was never in doubt from the moment Gabriel Jesus put City ahead with Bernardo Silva, man-of-the-match Kevin De Bruyne, a Kevin Long own goal and substitute Sergio Aguero adding to Burnley’s misery.

City have won four home FA Cup matches under boss Pep Guardiola with a 21-2 aggregate to leave the Catalan boss beaming with pride.

Guardiola said: “We keep looking for goals and I’m very, very pleased. We made good movement and I’m satisfied to be in the next round and in the draw on Monday.

“That’s eight games in a row winning and everyone’s involved this month. Everyone’s playing. It’s incredible. We’re scoring goals and everyone is right. And today was like we know that

Kevin is clever.”

Burnley boss

Sean Dyche was left applauding City and still had a smile on his face when he said: “I have got three keepers and I could have done with all three in there today.

“The game plan was to keep it tight but it was very difficult. I think goals are part of their mentality but they are clever off the ball. They were terrific and pounced on every mistake. And when they are in that mood they hurt you.”

It was Danilo who threaded a decisive through ball into Jesus and the Brazilian left Long and James Tarkowski dizzy with his brilliant footwork before thumping in the opener.

But just three minutes into the restart, Burnley should have been level. Nicolas Otamendi overran the ball and got caught in possession by Matej Vydra who should have scored in a one-to-one with keeper Ederson but blasted into the side JOHN COLEMAN accused Premier League ref Jon Moss of showing “arrogance beyond belief” after admitting Martyn Waghorn’s winner had left him physically sick.

Stanley’s manager was fuming after the elite official sent off midfielder

Dan Barlaser and awarded a freekick against his team that led to the decisive goal in a hard-fought tie.

Coleman confronted Moss in the lounge at the Wham Stadium after the final whistle and claims he welcomes the opportunity to be called to a hearing to explain himself. He was clearly struggling to contain his emotion, even an hour after the game had finished.

Before then, however, he had first tried to find Moss in his dressingroom. But the match official “had scarpered” he said, and then the Merseysider was shepherded away after seeking an explanation to the decisions that he felt cost his side.

He said: “I feel physically sick. I wanted to vomit when I saw them celebrating. Everyone has the right to celebrate. I’ve got no problem with that – but they didn’t deserve it.

“Unfortunately, we have been on the end of a couple of horrendous decisions. It’s happened time and again.

“You are allowed half-an-hour before you go and see the referee.

“By then he’d scarpered into the lounge – our dressing-rooms probably weren’t good enough for him. They’re good enough for every other referee that comes here week in, week out.

“I went to see him in the lounge – and I was thrown out. His arrogance is beyond belief. It’s as if your opinion doesn’t matter. That you shouldn’t be in the same room as him. It’s not right.”

Coleman was upset on two fronts. First with Moss over a second caution for Barlaser – he claimed that Derby’s Harry Wilson had committed a similar foul moments earlier and escaped scot-free.

And he was upset with the award of a free-kick in front of his dug-out. From that set-piece, Derby won the corner that led to the only goal.
