‘Health first is sensible’

- By Jaymi Mccann

PRINCE HARRY is doing the right thing for his mental well-being and that of his family, but should be careful not to lose his support system, according to experts.

The warning comes as sources claimed the Duke of Sussex suggested to his family that his mental health would be at risk if he did not make changes to his role.

The Prince, 35, is an activist for the cause after admitting he didn’t deal with the death of his mother when he was younger and that he has sought professional help in the past. He revealed in 2017 that he has “probably been very close to a complete breakdown on numerous occasions”.

Amanda Hills, psychologist and writer for the British Psychological Society, said: “In my professional opinion it was a huge mistake to have those boys walking behind their mother’s carriage. To go through that would have caused untold trauma.

“It is possible that Meghan encouraged Harry to offload and he may have absolutely broken his heart to her. He may not have done that with anyone else. “I am 100 per cent behind their position.the abuse and bullying that Meghan has seen probably triggered in him what he felt when his mother was going through the same. I don’t think he has a mental health issue per se, I think this is a man dealing with deep seated trauma.” She advised him not to distance himself from people in his family. Another expert, Gerard Barns, agreed Harry was being sensible in putting his health first.
