No deal raises Stones doubts
OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER last night backed the Glazer family and Ed Woodward after the Old Trafford crowd turned on the Manchester United hierarchy.
Despite United romping to a 4-0 win over bottom-of-thetable Norwich, hard-line fans in the Stretford End began chanting anti-glazer and Woodward songs. United boss Solskjaer claimed later he was unaware if his players heard the attacks on the American owners. But he admitted that he had heard them before United’s final goal.
However, in a clear sign of support for the owners and executive vice-chairman
JOHN STONES’ future at Manchester City is in doubt with the Premier League champions yet to start talks with the £47.5million defender about a new contract.
Stones, 25, is expected to be offered fresh terms this season, with two years left on his deal.
But negotiations have still not started – and the defender’s failure to nail down a regular place this season has put a question mark over his future.
Stones has made just 10 starts this season and faces a fight to keep his England place in this summer’s Euros.
