‘Dad’s dying wish is to make amends and see Archie and have his daughter back in his life...you owe him that, Meghan'
MEGHAN MARKLE’S estranged brother Tom Jr has said “sorry’” for his role in the family feud and called on the Duchess to do the same and grant their father Thomas his dying wish to see Archie.
Apologising for his part in the turmoil that has torn the Markle family apart, Tom Jr said both sides should have behaved better but the Duchess needs to call her “bewildered” father to say sorry for some of the things she has done.
In an emotional interview at his mother’s house in New Mexico, he said: “I think seriously what should happen is that Meghan should actually just seriously get off her high horse, call her father, make amends. The guy dedicated his whole entire life to her – where she is at today is because of him. That is the only reason and I mean enough is enough. My dad’s dying wish, he tells me on the phone, is just so he can just make amends and see Archie. And have his daughter back in his life – I mean, we owe him that.”
He added: “I’m sorry for the last three years of bad press.
“It should have been done differently a long time ago and she could have had a big decision in that. Reached out a little bit more and we would probably have a better time right now.
“It’s in the past and there is no instruction booklet for all this and how everything went down. I would say if it is the last thing that she does she needs to call her father.”
Meghan has not seen her father since well before her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018.
Despite the bitterness between the pair, Tom Jr believes she could start to repair some of the damage with a simple telephone call. He added: “Seriously, he has only got a few good years left. I talked to him the other day and this is going to hurt but he is to the point where he actually doesn’t really care if she comes back into his life or not.
“He is so frustrated because he can’t get a message to her. He is still bewildered, he is still lost, he is getting frustrated now to where he is just going to enjoy the rest of his life and he is just going to blow it off.”
On Monday, Meghan and Harry joined other members of the Royal Family at Westminster Abbey for the Commonwealth Day service – their final appearance as senior royals.

Tom Jr, 54, who lives in Oregon, not far north of the California border, hopes that one day he will get to have a relationship with 10-month-old nephew Archie who so far he has seen only in photos in newspapers and magazines.
He said: “Here’s a family member that I have never met, a family member who I will probably never meet unless the Queen steps in and says, ‘You know, let’s give these Markles a break, let’s give them some recognition because they do exist and they are nice people’.
“I want to party with the Queen – why not? I think it would be great. The entire Royal Family would have a good time sitting around and talking to me and my father. “I would talk to her about whatever she wanted to talk about. I would tell her about my childhood, my life, funny things. I like to laugh and to make people laugh and crack jokes. I have a lot of respect for the Queen.”
Tom Jr believes Meghan, who shot to fame in the TV series Suits, would have the opportunity for big screen roles if she returned to the United States.
Of her future, he said: “I see her back in Hollywood one way or the other. I think that anything that has to do with Hollywood, especially George Clooney and big A-list people in Hollywood, is attractive to her.”
He added: “Some people would probably go and see her. Let me say this gingerly I guess. She is not an A-list actress. She was a character in a series.
“Now she would just be given more opportunity with being who she was. She will get some good movie roles, she will do all right.”
But as for the Markles, Tom Jr thought it was “embarrassing” that none of them was invited to the “half wedding” in 2016 and that they were labelled a dysfunctional family.
He said: “I think Meghan found us embarrassing because, you know, working on Suits jaded her. It just changed her, you know.when you are working in the studios you have a trailer, you have PAS, personal assistants and runners that just do things for you constantly all day long.
“And you get kind of used to that so when she got the first season and the second season she was becoming popular on the show and I think it went to her head and she was just too good for anybody...”
