Critics hit out at Trump for saving friend from jail term

DONALDTRUMP’S friend and adviser Roger Stone celebrates at his Florida home after the US President commuted his “unjust” prison sentence for lying to Congress, obstruction and witness tampering.

Stone, 67, had been due to start his 40-month jail stint ontuesday before Mrtrump stepped in on Friday.the president’s critics have been lashing out, with Joe Biden, his opponent in November’s election, accusing him of abuse of power and “laying waste” to American values.

Leading Democrat Elizabeth Warren said it showed he was the most corrupt president in history.

Stone was the sixthtrump aide found guilty on charges arising from a Department of Justice investigation into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election.
