-

THE public has been invited to name three osprey chicks who became global internet stars during the lockdown.

The birds found fame thanks to a live-streaming nest camera at Loch Arkaig Pine Forest in the Highlands.

They were watched by more than a quarter of a million people across the globe.

Woodlandtrust Scotland is now asking people to name the three chicks, which are less than two months old, through an online vote.

Among the names the public can choose from for the birds are Dame Vera Lynn and Captain Tom Moore.

GOOD food must be made better value than cheaper options to help tackle obesity, a Tory MP urged.

Jeremy Hunt said very often the most affordable items are the least healthy including frozen pizza.

He told Radio 4: “You’ve got to find a way somehow of making healthier food better value for money, relative to some of the really cheap frozen stuff.”

The former health secretary also called on the restaurant industry to help reduce the giant portions served in the UK and US.
