Neil rescued by Stockley

- By Lindsay Sutton

LEWIS GRABBAN chalked up his 20th goal of the season but the day belonged to Preston hitman Jayden Stockley.

North End’s flickering hopes of making the play-offs looked all but over when Forest’s Grabban scored from the penalty spot after just five minutes.

But up stepped Stockley to save his side shortly after.

Brad Potts sent over a fierce cross and the big striker was in the right place at the right time to steer the ball past Forest keeper Brice Samba.

Preston boss Alex Neil admitted: “We flung everything at it and we are a bit frustrated. It’s an opportunity missed but I can’t really complain.

“The lads gave their all and the subs made an impact.”

Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi was satisfied with a point, saying: “I’m very happy with what was a solid performance.”
