Monk waiting to learn fate
GARRY MONK praised his players after the win that makes Sheffield Wednesday mathematically safe – for now.
First-half goals from Dominic Iorfa and Josh Windass, plus a Jacob Murphy wonder strike, ended a run of three defeats.
But the Owls could still end up in the bottom three if they are deducted points on an EFL charge of financial misconduct.
Boss Monk said: “We needed to respond and we did. It was a complete performance from start to finish.
“I am proud of the players.
“As I have said before, I don’t want to talk about things off the pitch. I am just looking to deal with the football side.”
QPR failed to register a shot on target until the 76th minute and boss Mark Warburton said: “To a man we were way below our levels.
“We were off the pace and hopeless in our passing.”
