Bowyer blast as drop nears

- By Ron Lewis

CHARLTON boss Lee Bowyer blasted referee Darren Bond as a disallowed goal and the decision not to give a late penalty plunged Charlton into the relegation mire.

Chuks Aneke looked onside when his first-half goal was ruled out, while Jake Forster-caskey picked up a yellow card for diving when he was felled in the penalty area.

It meant a third-minute George Puscas penalty gave all three points to Reading.

Bowyer said: “Decisions have cost us, the officials have cost us the game. These are big moments, there are careers on the line. Our players give everything and we haven’t got our rewards.’’

Reading boss Mark Bowen said: “I feel a little sorry for

Lee Bowyer today. They were screaming for everything but didn’t get anything.”
