ASTON VILLA boss Dean Smith has warned his players that their Premier League livelihoods are on the line.

Villa are battling to beat the drop and Smith (right) said: “The players are playing for their Premier League futures.

“They know there will be some who drop from this league into the Championship who never get to play in the Premier 2PM

League again.the consequences professionally, emotionally and financially of that drop will hit them hard.”

Smith also dismissed rumours that assistant John Terry is a contender for the vacant managerial post at Bristol City.
