Maguire targets first world title

HOT Scot Stephen Maguire is gunning to cause carnage at this year’s World Championship.

The Glaswegian potter pocketed £260,000 at the

Tour Championship last month, his first ranking title for seven years.

And the world No9 heads to Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre at the end of the month hungry to claim his maiden world crown.

“Confidence-wise this must be the best I’ve felt going into the Worlds,” revealed Maguire. “The pressure if off me now.”
