Sheer will to win can see Pep boys through

ENGLAND international Adam Lallana has agreed to join Brighton on a three-year-deal.

Lallana, 32, will not play again for Liverpool after an agreement with Jurgen Klopp which means he will not be considered for their final game of the season.

Lallana (right), who had fallen out of favour at Anfield of late, said: “It’s the right time for me to leave. I’m desperate for a new challenge, I’m desperate to play a bit more. I still feel like I’ve got two or three years left at the top.”

PEP GUARDIOLA claims it won’t be tactics that help Manchester City beat Real Madrid – just pure desire.

City are desperate to win their first Champions League and go into the second leg of their Last 16 tie against the Spaniards 2-1 ahead.

But Guardiola (below) knows it won’t be easy.

He said: “The players have to do something special for this game. It’s more about the desire.

“They know the quality Real Madrid have. They’ve sat and watched finals when Real Madrid were there.

“So we are not going to do anything special that we have not done already this season.

“Tactics are not going to win it or something special, it’s the energy we have inside of all of us as a club.”

Having been exonerated for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations by the Court Of Arbitration for Sport after being handed a two-year Champions League ban by UEFA, City have plenty of motivation.

But even though it’s believed Madrid lobbied against City in the corridors of power, Guardiola claims there’ll be no extra satisfaction if they send them packing. “The satisfaction to go through is for ourselves,” he said. “This issue is over. UEFA accused us but the independent process said we were right.”
