Walking on sunshine...

- By Andy Lea

Katrina’s guide books to dog-friendly places in the capital and Cornwall respectively. “I’d love to do Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland too, but the poodle is getting tired of all the posing.”

KATRINA, who has notched up club hits and solo albums, is now billed as Katrina from Katrina And The Waves. A new album, Hearts, Loves & Babys, opens with the upbeat single Drive, co-written with guitarist Darren Loveday.

It was inspired by one of the things that wind Sher up about her. “She thinks I like to control everything, I’ve got to drive, to hold the remote. We only ever argue about driving.”

At home Katrina chills out listening to Jazz24, a Seattle-based radio app. She used to play golf but now dismisses it as “a rich woman’s game... I’d rather go to Florida and relax by a swimming pool with cold beers. That’s much easier than golf. I love a pint of lager.”

Walking On Sunshine still generates more than $1million a year.

“The song was a stampede and we were dragged along behind it, tagging along for the ride,” she says.

“Katrina And The Waves was a completely crazy world. We tried to be cool but always had fun. There is nothing I would change about it.”
