ANXIOUS TO KEEP UNDER PROTECTION

with the football. What he has done is exceptional, I have to say.

“Marcus is talented, grounded and driven enough to be a legend at this club.”

Meanwhile, Solskjaer says his Manchester United stars can’t wait to be in a title race.

While Jose Mourinho and

Frank Lampard are dampening title talk at Tottenham and Chelsea, Solskjaer insists his own players are desperate to hunt down Liverpool – who thrashed Crystal Palace 7-0 yesterday.

And as they face a tough test against Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds today, Solskjaer says his players would embrace the chance to win the club’s first Premier League crown since 2013.

“I don’t think you can outperform your ego. You have to believe in yourself to get the best out of yourself,’’ he said.

“If you don’t believe that you can win, I don’t think you will win. Our players go into every game believing they can win but we are not going to get too far ahead of ourselves.

“We have to take one game at a time and improve as a team.

But the team and the group are moving in the right direction.”

Solskjaer has warned that

Leeds will be a real danger, though, in the first League clash between the rivals since 2004.

“It is going to be an intense game in a competitive way of course,’’ he added.

“We know it is going to be a running game because Leeds are the fittest team in the league and they are going to challenge us and push us to the edge.

“I’m looking forward to seeing my players standing up to it. You have to go toe-to-toe with Leeds physically to have a chance of getting a result and then take your opportunities.”
