Review all fines, says lawyer
A HUMAN rights barrister believes Covid-related fines should be reviewed.
Adam Wagner said emergency legislation agreed last March has given the Government too much power with too little scrutiny from Parliament.
The controversial and complex laws have been called into question, with Derbyshire
Police having to apologise this month to two women fined after driving for a walk.
Mrwagner, from London’s Doughty Street Chambers, said: “The Government should review a significant proportion of the 40,000 FPNS (fixed penalty notices). If it finds a significant proportion were wrongly given out then it should review them all.”
